The much anticipated “Appetite for destruction” EP by Ghanaian lyrically inclined and multi genre gifted artiste, Kofi Jamar, is finally available on all DSPs from Friday, September 10th, 2021. The new project was revealed by the GADone Records superstar in a message on his social media accounts.
“Let the sound connect to your inner self. Appetite for destruction Ep is readddyyy.” He posted on his Instagram page. “My new EP drops September 10, 2021.”
The two-part EP – hip hop and afrobeats – will play a major host and receive guest contributions plus verses from other mainstream or budding musicians from across the country. From Ghana, it features Fameye, Quamina MP, and Tulenkey and from Nigeria, Afrobeats sensation, Teni will make a guest appearance as the only foreign act.
The project gives production credit to Cteabeat and Trino Tunez.
When it is released, the 6-track body of work will be his sophomore EP, after chalking decent success with his debut professional material, TRUTH EP, which was released in 2020. It will be an ideal depiction of royalty, nobility, luxury, power, ambition, nature, confidence, and high energy, as well as elicit sensations of vitality, freshness, and inventiveness.
Few days ago, Kofi Jamar, unveiled the official cover art photo of the much anticipated album. The project art work is dominated by two major colors; “Purple Jam” (used to delineate the hip hop genre)” and “Neon Green” (characterize the afrobeats genre).
Explaining the inspiration behind the two colors, the “Ekorso” hitmaker said: “The color purple jam is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition (representing Hiphop part) while the neon green is closely associated with nature, confidence, and hight energy and it thought to promote feelings of liveliness, freshness, and creativity (representing the afrobeats parts)”.
In 2020, Kofi Jamar released his debut EP titled ‘TRUTH’ (Transforming Rhythms Under Thousand Hours). The six songs EP comes after a resounding success from his recent single ‘In the City’ which featured Ice Prince from Nigeria and Khaligraph Jones. These two rappers are Africa’s finest with Khaligraph Jones chalking success as the best Rapper Africa at Sound City MVP Awards in Lagos.
