3Music Networks Limited ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data and complying with applicable data protection legislation, including the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). This policy explains how we collect, process, store, and protect your personal data.

1. Introduction

This Data Protection Policy applies to all personal data we process in connection with the 3music TV platform and associated services. It applies to data collected from website visitors, registered users, newsletter subscribers, event ticket purchasers, and any other individuals whose data we process.

2. Data Controller

3Music Networks Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through the 3music TV platform. Our registered office is in Accra, Ghana.

3. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data on the following lawful bases:

  • Contract: Processing necessary to fulfil a contract with you (e.g., ticket purchases, account registration).
  • Consent: Where you have given clear, informed consent (e.g., newsletter subscriptions, marketing communications).
  • Legitimate Interests: Processing for our legitimate business interests, provided these do not override your rights (e.g., website analytics, fraud prevention).
  • Legal Obligation: Processing necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory requirement.

4. Data We Collect

We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity Data: Name, username, and similar identifiers.
  • Contact Data: Email address, phone number, and postal address.
  • Transaction Data: Details of ticket purchases and payment records.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and usage data collected via cookies and analytics tools.
  • Marketing Preferences: Your preferences in receiving marketing communications from us.

We do not collect or process special categories of personal data (such as health data, ethnic origin, or political opinions) unless strictly required and with your explicit consent.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Our general retention periods are:

  • Account data: Retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 90 days of account closure upon request.
  • Transaction data: Retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax legislation.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
  • Analytics data: Retained in anonymised form for up to 26 months.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data where we have no compelling reason to continue processing it ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Data Portability: Receive your personal data in a portable, machine-readable format where processing is based on consent or contract.
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our third-party service providers (such as cloud hosting, analytics, and payment processors) may process your data in countries outside Ghana. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable law.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include SSL/TLS encryption, access controls, regular security assessments, and staff data protection training.

In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority and affected individuals as required by law.
